ABOUT CSR and Sustainability Reporting and Best Practices
The practice of CSR is much debated and criticized. Proponents argue that there is a strong business case for CSR, in that corporations benefit in multiple ways by operating with a perspective broader and longer than their own immediate, short-term profits. Critics argue that CSR distracts from the fundamental economic role of businesses; others argue that it is nothing more than superficial window-dressing; others yet argue that it is an attempt to pre-empt the role of governments as a watchdog over powerful multinational corporations. Corporate Social Responsibility has been redefined throughout the years. However, it essentially is titled to aid to an organization's mission as well as a guide to what the company stands for and will uphold to its consumers.
International Corporate Citizenship Conference 2010
Each year the Center hosts an International Corporate Citizenship Conference that draws hundreds of professionals from around the world. Leading policy makers from the largest domestic and international corporations attend: managers of corporate citizenship and community involvement, public relations, public affairs, contributions, communications, work/life issues, and other professionals responsible for community and business strategies.
The theme for our 2010 conference is Corporate Citizenship: Winning a Seat at the Table. During these turbulent times, more companies are discovering the financial and reputational advantages that come with a solid commitment to corporate citizenship.
Has your company made a place at the table for corporate citizenship? Don’t fall behind as competitors create new business strategies, management processes and stakeholder relationships to meet new societal expectations placed on companies.
Join us at the 2010 International Corporate Citizenship Conference where you will:
- Hear inspiring keynote speakers
- Learn about the latest trends, best practices and research
- Participate with peers contributing relevant insights on shared challenges
