Every story snippet in this video is a visual value accounting statement. But the story does not quite get linked in to a system so that there may be easy follow up ... and serious quantification that puts on the record what is being accomplished here. There are examples from the whole supply chain: Yarn mills, fabric suppliers, apparel manufacturers and retailers representing Rayon as “Bamboo” or repeating that message.

With the Fed’s stepping in, there is damaged consumer confidence in green products. And Bamboo, a renewable resource and good a material choice will be tarnished.

What’s the lesson learned? Companies who knowingly used this strategy will likely say “everyone was doing it”. Some designers, Brands and resellers didn’t know enough about the production process to realize that this marketing strategy was deceptive.
