Title: Great Lakes Regional Director

Position Description:
The Huntington's Disease Society of America is the largest voluntary health non-profit organization dedicated to the improving the lives of people with Huntington's Disease and their families. With our nearly 40 chapters and affiliates across the nation, we provide care for those living with HD today, while we work tirelessly towards a treatment and cure.
The Huntington's Disease Society of America is seeking an experienced Regional Development Director to lead the management and growth of the Great Lakes Region, including the growth and development of affiliates and chapters with a focus on revenue generation and volunteer development in support of HDSA's mission.
Position Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain effective relationships with volunteer leadership and fundraising collaborators (i.e. corporate partners, individual donors, vendors, and foundations.)
- Manage HDSA chapters/affiliates in the development, implementation, and successful completion of annual budgets and plans of work.
- Support financial management by ensuring timely information and reporting between the region and chapters.
- Meet fundraising goals for annual regional budget and support successful completion of annual chapter fundraising goals, as reflected in the regional budget.
- Assist in the recruitment, training and management of volunteers on existing boards, as well as help to identify new volunteers to maximize support of HDSA's mission within the region.
- Participate in and/or have a working knowledge of Chapter board meetings including work of their standing committees.
- With Director of Field Development & Operations, develop a multi-year plan for fund development in existing markets/chapters, as well as expansion to new markets within the region.
- Develop a grant funding strategy and actively pursue project funding opportunities.
- Supervise the operational management of existing regional chapters and one regional office.
- Have a working knowledge of HDSA's scope of work, including knowledge of the Society's governance structure and the National Field Committee.
- Support and engage in all organization advocacy initiatives as required on a local level.
- Work seamlessly with regional social workers, Centers of Excellence and medical facilities to make sure that family and patient needs are being met as outlined in the mission of the organization.
- Foster working relationships with clubs/organization/corporations within the region.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- Passion for Society's mission and demonstrated commitment to the non-profit sector.
- Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college or university, Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of non-profit fundraising experience with a proven track record of success managing a diversified development program.
- Proven track record of success creating a resource development strategy, increasing financial results and improving relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a large, geographically diverse staff and volunteer team.
- Ability to lead, direct and inspire colleagues, stakeholders, and volunteers.
- Excellent communications, organization, and presentation skills.
- Superb interpersonal skills to achieve consensus and cooperation.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and relational databases.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
