Description

Stand for Children seeks effective organizers for the Portland, coast and southern Oregon areas immediately to support existing chapters and build a volunteer base in critical legislative districts. Primary responsibilities include meetings with parents, teachers, and community members to recruit potential leaders, train them to build volunteer teams, build relationships with elected officials, and mobilize their teams to win key issue and election campaigns. There is also some issue research.

Qualifications

Community organizing, political organizing, campaign work, or relevant leadership experience in a volunteer organization preferred, but not required. We provide excellent training.
Willingness to work flexible hours including 1-2 evenings per week and occasional weekends; access to a car.
