    Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE) is a non-profit law firm that provides high-quality legal assistance to eligible low-income residents of western Ohio. ABLE seeks a Regional Director of Development to serve ABLE and its partner firm, Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc (LAWO). The position is based in Dayton and is responsible for the implementation of a fundraising and marketing outreach plan for Dayton and other priority regional markets. This includes annual campaign and event planning and execution, donor cultivation, volunteer engagement, and community collaborations.

    Position: Regional Director of Development

    The Regional Director of Development will be responsible for and implementation of key fund development activities in key priority markets. This includes a concerted “friend-raising” program, an enhanced Annual Campaign and Signature Event, targeted prospecting and outreach, and stewardship activities.

    The individual must be committed to the missions of ABLE and LAWO, the principle of equal access to justice, and must have a passion for fundraising. He or she must be able to motivate and support Board members, staff, volunteers, and donors and be able to reach targeted annual fundraising goals. Experience with growing an annual fund, direct mail, event management and donor stewardship is desired. The ability to identify key internal and external relationships, be able to be held accountable to productivity standards and solicit gifts is essential.

    The Regional Director of Development must demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills. He or she must demonstrate a high level of initiative, sound judgment, and public speaking and interpersonal skills. The Regional Director must be self directed and be highly skilled at working autonomously and also effectively within a group environment.

    Qualifications:-

    A minimum of 3-5 years’ fundraising/development experience and/or related field experience with a strong relationship management and/or business development skill set required. Regular travel, including occasional overnight and evening hours, throughout the service area, is required.
