    Position Title: Director, Camp St. Albans
    Location: DuPont
    Pay: $35,302 per year
    FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt
    Reports To: Chief Program Officer

    Position Summary:-

    Plan, implement and evaluate Camp St. Albans resident camp and Camp Lyle McLeod Community camping programs, and other camp based programs or events that may be assigned, that are responsive to the needs and interests of girls. During the resident camp, serve in residence at Camp St. Albans as summer resident camp director (Jun-Aug). Based in DuPont the rest of the year.

    Essential Functions:-

    • Develop, manage, staff and evaluate resident camp program at St. Albans. Negotiate contracts and agreements for vendor services and outside agencies to provide services as needed. Develop and manage the St. Albans resident camp budgets. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise resident camp staff and volunteers at Camp St. Albans. Maintain high standards of program, health, safety and security of campers and staff in accordance with council, Girl Scouts USA, and American Camp Association guidelines and policies.
    • Provide direction and support to Lyle McLeod and other community camps. Supervise and support the volunteer directors. Provide procedure manuals and training for those volunteers responsible for overseeing and delivering program for community camps to ensure all camps maintain high standards of health, safety and security in accordance with Council, Girl Scouts USA and American Camp Association standards, guidelines and policies.
    • Lead responsibility for information on Camp St. Albans’ in the camp brochure, website and other promotional tools. Works coordination with the other Council Camp Program Managers.
    • Research and develop program opportunities for the camps as assigned.
    • Promote and maintain environmental program kits.
    • Maintain and analyze statistical information for assigned programs and develop reports as required.
    • Responsible for drafting initial budget for Camp St. Albans and Camp Lyle McLeod programs and for monitoring budgets to assure programs are meeting revenue and expense targets.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase and maintain attendance at Camp St. Albans and Camp Lyle McLeod camp programs.
    • Participate in the American Camp Association and ensure that routine program and property accreditation occurs.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:-

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
    • Minimum age 25 years
    • Two years experience developing and managing, or assisting in the management of, residential or comparable, camp programs.
    • At least one season as an onsite resident camp director at an equivalent sized camp preferred.
    • Demonstrated understanding of customer service and guest relations. Effective conflict resolution skills.
    • Demonstrated success in hiring and managing a diverse seasonal staff and volunteers or managing and leading teams.
    • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing innovative youth programs and delivery systems for diverse populations.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective interactions with individuals at all levels and backgrounds.
    • Experience in the development and administration of work plans, budgets, and program evaluation.
    • Experience with waterfront, challenge course and environmental education programs preferred.
    • Valid First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain one within 1 month of hire. Wilderness first Aid preferred.
    • Outdoor education certifications strongly preferred. (Watercraft, climbing, life guarding)
    • Proficiency with computers and basic office equipment including the Microsoft Office suite.
    • Valid Washington State drivers license, vehicle in good condition, proof of insurance, and the ability to fulfill timely and extensive travel requirements across widespread regional geography.
    • Satisfactory results from criminal background search.
    • Maintain membership in Girl Scouts.
