    ICLEI is beginning to develop its next generation greenhouse gas emissions software in partnership with a start-up software company, Green Mind. Green Mind is a joint venture between ICLEI and software industry veterans and will lead the development of the new software tool, with input and strong participation from ICLEI. ICLEI will also work with Green Mind to develop a linked value chain of products and services to enable the organizations to collaboratively go to market with the new software tool.

    Position Description:-

    ICLEI is seeking a qualified Business Development Manager to manage the development of the software and associated services for a new greenhouse gas emissions management platform. This position will be part of ICLEI’s fast-growing national technical tools and consulting team.

    The primary responsibilities of this position include:

    • Manage relationship with joint venture software company, Green Mind.
    • Work with Green Mind software development team and ICLEI Product Development Advisory Group to develop requirements for the new software tool.
    • Coordinate with ICLEI international offices to perform market research, gather requirements, and develop and implement the new software tool internationally.
    • Lead and coordinate ICLEI’s Product Development Advisory Group to gather feedback on the functionality and manage testing of the tool.
    • Lead and coordinate ICLEI’s Business Development Advisory Group to develop ICLEI’s service offerings and business model related to the new software tool.
    • Participate in the development of training materials and user manuals for the new software tool and for ICLEI’s Five Milestones for Climate Protection.
    • Develop strategy for transitioning ICLEI members from existing greenhouse gas emissions analysis tool to new software tool.
    • Coordinate with ICLEI tools and program teams to perform initial R&D for new tools and partner with Green Mind to develop these R&D tools into new software modules.
    • Develop and implement a strategy for collaborating with U.S. utilities and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) to gather data on energy usage and vehicle miles traveled for the new software tool.

    Qualifications:-

    The ideal candidate will have either a Bachelors degree with at least seven years work experience or a Masters degree and five years work experience in software development and implementation, management consulting, business planning and development, or a related field. Experience in managing complex relationships, software development, gathering requirements, and developing service and support packages for new software is a must.

    Experience with developing greenhouse gas emissions inventories, climate actions plans, energy efficiency and conservation plans and knowledge of greenhouse gas emissions, building management, or energy management software is preferred. An ability to be a self-starter and work independently along with experience leading a team is required. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in working on climate change and sustainability issues at the local level and a desire to work in a fast –paced, evolving organization.

    Position Location:-

    This position would ideally be based in Seattle, WA, however consideration will be given to base the position in one of ICLEI’s regional offices in Oakland, CA, New York City, or Boston. Applicant must be willing to travel 30% of the time.

    Salary Range:-

    The salary range for the position is $65,000 to $75,000, based on experience, with a competitive benefits package.
