ADMINISTRATIVE & OPERATIONS SUPPORT IN A FAIR TRADE COMPANY We are seeking a high-potential, socially conscious individual to join us. The tasks will encompass finance and operations. This is a great opportunity to be immersed in an entrepreneurial company and get involved in the operations of a fair trade business. Depending on experience and adaptability, there are opportunities for handling special projects. This is a paid internship with a potential to become a full time or part time position. All are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, enjoys working with numbers and has some basic knowledge of accounting (either thru education or work.) Must have working knowledge in a Windows environment. QuickBooks experience would be an advantage. Hours would be 20+ per week. Responsibilities include the following: - Administrative Support: A/P & A/R Basic bookkeeping (invoicing, office expenses, etc.) - Assist with: Distributor Chargeback data analysis and re-compensation Qualifications: - Must have an excellent working knowledge of finance & MS Excel - Must be a fast learner, reliable, with a professional attitude - Extreme attention to details, well organized, with excellent skills in managing time and ability to multi-task. -Must be well-spirited and feel passionate about working for a social cause - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines - Knowledge of QuickBooks a plus - Experience with wholesale and the food industry a plus About Us: Products are sourced from groups of small-scale farmers in developing countries. The additional Fair Trade revenue and the Fair Trade premium go toward social, economical and environmental projects in local communities. ALTER ECO products range from olive oil to rice, to sugar, to quinoa and chocolates. Located in San Francisco, we have launched 30 Fair Trade food products nationwide to retail stores such as independent cooperative stores, Whole Foods, and numerous natural and regional chains.
