It is the state officials and community members that advocate for change. It is the emergency food providers that feed our hungry neighbors each day.
Position Summary:-
Each Campaign Associate is responsible for the recruitment and motivation of corporations and community organizations to participate in, and raise pledges for, the 2009 Walk for Hunger. Employment in this position begins January 11, 2010 and ends June 4, 2010. Campaign Associates report to the Campaign Coordinator and work as part of the campaign team.
Goals:
- To recruit and motivate organizations to participate in the 2010 Walk for Hunger.
- To be an effective member of the campaign team, which is comprised of six Campaign Associates. The campaign team is responsible for recruiting more than 40,000 Walkers who together will raise $4 million dollars to support emergency hunger-relief programs in Massachusetts.
Key Responsibilities:-
- As a member of the campaign team, implement the Walk campaign action plan and timelines.
- Establish and maintain regular phone, mail, e-mail, and personal contact with corporate and community Walk contacts throughout the campaign.
- Complete data entry as related to the campaign and Walk Team records.
- Compile and maintain thorough and detailed database records, accurately tracking Walk participants.
- Give presentations about hunger and The Walk for Hunger to interested corporate and community Walk teams.
- Carry out aspects of pre-Walk events, including the Kickoff Breakfast, Team Leader Workshops, and Phone-a-thon.
- Provide support to Development, Allocations, and Communications departments by mailing Walk materials and gathering information about and for our Walk Teams.
- Perform warehouse support, materials fulfillment, and front office coverage.
- Be a point person for a specific pre-Walk assignment (such as T-shirts, charter buses, and speaking engagements).
- Work as event staff for The Walk for Hunger on Sunday, May 2, 2010, and assist with event setup on Saturday, May 1, 2010.
- Participate in the evaluation of The Walk for Hunger and all post-Walk follow-ups, including thank you recognition to organizational contacts.
Time/Hours:-
The position is 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some early mornings, evenings, and weekend work hours are required for the Kickoff Breakfast, Team Leader Workshops, and Phone-a-thon. The Campaign Associate is eligible for two paid personal days after one month of employment, as well as several paid holidays.
Salary:-
The Campaign Associate position pays $14/hour, plus benefits of health and dental insurance, and a partial transportation subsidy.
