Mission:

The mission of WomenShelter of Long Beach is to eliminate domestic violence through compassionate intervention, education and personal empowerment.

Position Description:

WomenShelter of Long Beach has an immediate opening for a Director of Development to work with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors in developing and implementing a strategic plan to support the agency’s financial goals.

Key responsibilities:

• Management of all government grant submissions and reporting.
• Develop and implement a Development Plan, budget and fundraising strategy to solicit and raise funds from individuals, corporations and community groups.
• Develop and implement a major donor and planned giving program.
• Coordinate and manage fundraising activities in conjunction with staff and the Board of Directors.
• Oversee the donor database and provide data to the Board of Directors and the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have:

• BA plus five (5) years experience with demonstrated success in fundraising in the non-profit arena and knowledge of funder research.
• Experience working with government contracts.
• Solid PC literacy and ability to produce own work.
• Must be able to develop strong working relationships with the funder community.

Salary: commensurate with experience.
