Booz Allen Lead Technologist Danny McGibney is dedicated to giving back to his community.

For years, Danny has been involved with Food and Friends, a non-profit organization that cares for men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses by preparing and delivering specialized meals and groceries in conjunction with nutrition counseling.

Through Booz Allen, Danny became involved with the Walk to End HIV, an event to benefit Whitman-Walker Health, a non-profit community-based health organization that provides dependable, high-quality, comprehensive and accessible health care to those infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

For Danny, his work to support HIV/AIDS non-profits is not just about giving back - it’s about fulfilling a mission inspired by his cousin.  View the video.

On World AIDS Day this week, Booz Allen honored those lives lost to and those currently living with HIV/AIDS. For years, Booz Allen employees across the country have participated in walks to raise money to combat HIV/AIDS.  Today, 35 million people are living with HIV, a disease that has united the world in an effort to eradicate it.

As part of Booz Allen’s recognition of World AIDS Day, the firm displayed the famous AIDS Memorial Quilt in its headquarters office in McLean, VA. The quilt includes a panel that Danny McGibney’s family made in honor of his cousin John, who died of AIDS in 1994 at the age of 30.  The firm also hosted a screening of "The Last One," a documentary about the AIDS quilt and the global movement against HIV/AIDS.
