Sometimes people make incredible contributions to science and society, but aren't recognized in their lifetime. Henrietta Lacks may be the biggest example of all. 

Suffering from cervical cancer, a biopsy was analyzed and found to host the only known cells that could replicate in a lab.

Since then, her special cells have become the foundation of a wide range of important therapeutic and medical research, including how COVID-19 spreads and behaves within human cells.
