The German Mobility Award was presented by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure for the first time. With the German Mobility Award, the initiative "Germany – Land of Ideas" and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure make digital innovations and intelligent mobility solutions visible to the public. From across Germany 350 startups, companies or research institutions applied with their projects in the field of intelligent mobility. The jury chose moovel because of the following reason:

"moovel is already shaping the mobility of the future today: the user-friendly app sets itself apart from similar products for its numerous features. For instance, it is even possible to use the app to make convenient payments".

The mobility app combines local public transport, car-sharing provider car2go, mytaxi, Taxi-Ruf, rental bicycles and Deutsche Bahn. With just a few clicks, users can search for and compare the transport options, and can book and pay for most services directly in the app.
