Operations at Trane Remanufacturing Facility Include Large Emphasis on Sustainability
Sep 12, 2016 2:05 PM ET

Countless air conditioning compressors and motors get a new life at the Trane Remanufacturing Facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, every year. Employees at this facility specialize in disassembling, cleaning, inspecting and rebuilding old equipment to extend its working lifespan.

Sustainability plays a large role in the daily operations of this facility. The facility’s primary purpose of remanufacturing compressors and motors reduces the amount of water, raw materials and energy needed to manufacture products, while recycling programs and wastewater treatment systems enable additional saving of resources.
