During GreenBiz’s 2016 conference in Scottsdale last week, Stewart Whitney, president of Timberland and Letitia Webster, senior director of sustainability at VF Corporation, shared how a collaborative effort led to strengthened sustainability practices after VF’s acquisition of Timberland in 2011. In a keynote interview moderated by John Davies, vice president and senior analyst at GreenBiz, Whitney and Webster discussed how transparency and respect for each company’s CSR initiatives helped both brands to come together on sustainability. Timberland and VF were able to combine efforts and leverage individual strengths to implement sustainable practices that drive business opportunities, while working towards the common good.
