CBRE Chicago shares the journey behind its innovative new office space as part of CBRE’s global Workplace Strategy program, Workplace360. Chicago is the 21st office -- and the largest in the U.S. -- to open as part of Workplace360. The office features free-addressing (unassigned seats), a mostly paperless environment, and advanced technology for all employees. More than just another “open plan” office, this environment features an emphasis on providing a variety of enclosed spaces which are available to everyone. Employees were included in the process of making this transition through an 18-month change management effort. A consolidation of three locations, the new River North neighborhood features added amenities that complete the experience for employees. This new way of working was consulted and pioneered by CBRE's Workplace Strategy group, and the space was designed by the architecture firm Gensler.
