Catlin Powers is the COO of One Earth Designs and a doctoral student in environmental health at Harvard School of Public Health. The main goal of Powers’ work and research is to help communities leverage science and engineering in the evolution of their own innovation lineages rather than abandoning traditional design in favor of well-advertised foreign technologies that may or may not be appropriate within the local context. She founded One Earth Designs (OED) to facilitate this process in the Himalayan region.
