I'm a California kid. Growing up in the mountains, deserts, beaches, and cities of our state impressed an indelible respect and love for nature on me. I studied sustainable development in college, seeking a framework to understand how the global economy and the global ecosystem can coexist. However, people are primary and I am deeply committed to efforts that expand individuals' freedoms and enhance a person's livelihood.
Through social entrepreneurship, creative public-private sector partnerships, innovative policy reform, and compassion, laughter, and grit I plan to be the change I want to see in the world.
Oh yeah, I love to surf, barbeque, and practice martial arts :)

What kind of positive change do you want to create in the world over the next 12 months?:
The local level is where I am concentrating right now. Economic development and housing are central to New York City's growing population. There are many people in NYC who could use job training, housing advocacy, and community organizing. I'd like to contribute by offering energy affordability services, street vendor advocacy (they have it hard), and sustainability consulting. These areas I am most passionate about and, although not directly, greatly influence the above-mentioned areas in a positive manner.
