Dave Simpson, M.S., is the Principal of Constructive Consultants and a Senior Leadership Coach for Mariposa Leadership, Inc. He brings over 20 years of domestic and international experience with high tech and non-profit corporations as a leader and operations expert, a corporate university faculty/coach, and an internal consultant working with high-potential/top-talent leaders. He has helped leaders launch new services and organizations, transition into new leadership roles, and improve team performance.
His background includes thirteen years with Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq Computers. His responsibility for P&L's, budgets, forecasts, and balance scorecard metrics has helped David develop strong skills in leadership, accountability, and business acumen. His three years in Hong Kong and Singapore, with operational responsibilities encompassing China, Japan, Southeast Asia and Australia, have provided him with invaluable lessons in international management and cross-cultural effectiveness.
• As a director with Cadence Design Systems corporate university, he was one of the original members to launch the Executive College, serving 250 leaders.
• As a consultant, he coached leaders through new leadership transitions, developing their teams, and managing large scale change.
• As faculty, he has delivered programs in change and transition, leadership, communication, and team development.
Now, as a coach, Dave helps high potential/top-talent leaders assess and improve skills in strategic visioning, organization alignment to strategy, preparing for their next role, and team performance management. He supports clients to increase self awareness, learning, and effective action in alignment with their preferred future. He uses an “appreciative” approach, acknowledging that leaders are more effective when they leverage strengths and passions. His goal is to help leaders achieve extraordinary business results by aligning their character strengths, goals, and actions. Dave is described as possessing a steadiness of spirit and a capacity to inspire others
