About J Carl:	I am director and co-founder of Circle of Blue, the international network of leading journalists, scientists and communications design experts that reports and presents the information necessary to respond to the global freshwater crisis. Since reporting water as an “axis issue” at the core of global crises while covering the World Summit on Sustainable Development for MSNBC.com, I've become one of the few journalists consistently at the heart of the global freshwater crisis. I've met and learned from policy makers, scholars and government leaders through my role on the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars working group, “Navigating Peace.” I had a chance to reflect on this -- and journalism's role -- in my recent Wilson Center white paper, “Navigating the Mainstream: Making Water Issues Matter.” MSJ in investigative and magazine writing, Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism; BA honors from the University’s American Studies Program.
