| About Jennifer: |
I am the Director of the DC Language Access Coalition with professional experience that includes being the Maryland Program Manager at Asian American LEAD (Leadership, Empowerment and Development), Events and Communications Manager for the Leadership for a Changing World program at the Advocacy Institute, Spanish Teacher at Bladensburg High School and Paralegal at Vinson & Elkins, LLP as well as a consultant to the Institute for Sustainable Communities. My experience lies in nonprofit fundraising, coalition building, education and training, personal and organizational sustainability, executive transitions, communications and media, facilitation, event planning and policy advocacy.
In the next year, I will be looking forward to shift into the sustainability consulting industry with a particular interest in the strategy, project design and implementation, and human capital management sides of the business.
I was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and I received my undergraduate degrees in Spanish and International Studies from Austin College, and my master's degree in Peace and Development Studies from the University of Limerick in Limerick, Ireland. I am currently pursuing her MBA from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland where I am the Part Time Board Fellows Coordinator for Smith School's Chapter of NetImpact as well as the Part Time Liaison to the MBA Soccer Club. I reside in Silver Spring, MD and is active in her community by serving on the Montgomery County Mid-County Citizens’ Advisory Board.
I am also an active mother to two beautiful children, Connor, age 6 and Terra, age 4. When I am not busy taking Connor and Terra to kung-fu, drama class, Chinese or Spanish classes, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, pilates, hiking and playing soccer. |
