General Information

About Justin:	I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2004 with a BS in Architecture. While attending the U of M I expanded on my zealousness for architecture by becoming more concerned with social responsibility and environmental stewardship. It quickly became a passion for me to expand on my knowledge of living, learning, and designing with a heightened awareness for the impact we have on our world. I've read Cradle to Cradle, Learned about the Natural Step program, about Green Globes, and became just the second individual at the firm I work for to become a LEED AP. I have worked on over a dozen LEED projects including the first LEED Gold public high school in the nation, the projected first LEED gold elementary school in Wisconsin, the former highest rated LEED building in the world, and a number of other very exciting examples of committments to sustainability. I have also been instrumental in implementing sustainable practices throughout the company I work for including training of sustainable practices, switching our process over to using more digital media, and even helping select more sustainable choices for our marketing materials. <br /><br /><br /><br /> I also live sustainably because I truly believe it is the right thing to do. I work from home a couple days a week to reduce my emissions and transportation costs, I use environmentally friendly cleaners, I recycle, switch my lightbulbs to compact flourescents, use low-flow plumbing fixtures, and use an electric lawnmower. I believe that a committment to our environment expands beyond our home or office walls and always find ways to introduce friends, family, and people at church, and other various organizations, to more environmentally friendly choices.<br /><br /><br /><br /> I continually search the internet for online papers, magazines, and companies for new ideas the design profession can use to continue to break new ground in sustainable practices.
