| About Leah: |
I graduate with my B.S. in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from M.I.T. next month (June 2008), but as much as I have loved learning about the brain, I like people too much to want to spend the next few years in a research lab. I love children, I love watching them grow and develop, and I love seeing them get excited when they learn something new. I also love technology, athletics and the Spanish language. I have traveled a lot, most recently to do development work in Honduras and before that to intern with the Secretary of Public Education in Mexico City. I don't know what the next few years will bring, but I do know that God has blessed me with a passion for service. Whatever I do, I want to feel like I'm helping people who need it, and who might otherwise be ignored. |

| What kind of positive change do you want to create in the world over the next 12 months?: |
I want to use my rigorous academic background and Spanish speaking skills to work on public health or education initiatives with youth or young mothers who are living in poverty in the United States or Latin America. |
