I want to create a better informed consumer marketplace. We are in a unique time in which environmental and social concerns have captured the public consciousness. It is extremely important this rise in consciousness is properly nurtured and encouraged. Companies must employ honest and responsible social marketing campaigns to encourage the further development of public awarenesss, rather than discourage it through false or misleading advertising. Standards by which green products and services are approved and marketed must be established to prevent green-washing from disillusioning engaged consumers who express their environmental and social concerns by spending their income conscientiously.
