I have been passionately working in the fields of public health and community activism for the past seven years. I was one of the founding members of Teens for Safe Cosmetics and have worked with TOMS Shoes, NYC's Coalition for a Smoke-Free City, AIDS Service Center NYC, Earth Island Institute, and Green Drinks NYC. I just returned from studying abroad in Ghana, West Africa, where I worked at the West African AIDS Foundation and produced a documentary on HIV/AIDS in Africa.
At New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Studies, my concentration is Public Health, Documentary Film, and Sustainable Development. I strongly believe that health is a universal human right and it is intrinsically linked to sustainability. I purchase only organic products, from local, organic food to non-toxic cleaning products and cosmetics. I want to use my consumer power to protect the planet ensure my own health and well being.

What kind of positive change do you want to create in the world over the next 12 months?:
Since returning from Ghana, I have been working to start an organization to support the West African AIDS Foundation. I plan to host events to sell clothing and jewelry made by women who have lost their jobs due to their HIV status.
