GM Drives Demand for Sustainable Natural Rubber
Through an automotive industry-first commitment to sourcing sustainable natural rubber in its tires, General Motors is helping drive the industry toward net-zero deforestation and uphold human and labor rights. The company will develop a set of purchasing requirements, with the intent that the entire automotive industry will join in the movement and together help transform the rubber supply chain.

The Marketing of the Electric Vehicle
GM has designed the Chevrolet Volt and Bolt EV for markets across all 50 states and around the world – a demonstration of the company’s commitment to electrification. While growing the electric-vehicle market is a more complex challenge than simply bringing a new car to the dealership showroom, Chevrolet focuses on marketing and education efforts to help drive consumer adoption. 
Maven, One of the Fastest-Growing Mobility Brands in North America, Expands New York City Operations
A year and a half after launching as a curated residential service in New York City, Maven has evolved into one of the fastest-growing mobility brands in North America. Leveraging its seamless and dynamic mobility platform, Maven offers unique car-sharing services geared toward both consumers and businesses.
Maven Gig Delivers the Shared Economy in an EV
GM’s car-sharing brand Maven recently expanded to include Maven Gig, an enabler for the sharing economy. This new platform provides the Chevrolet Bolt EV to freelance gig drivers who do not have access to a vehicle. The service supports people maximizing their earning potential, while helping add more electric vehicles to the streets.
2018 Equinox: Doing More with Less
Crossovers become more agile when they drop some weight. For the redesigned 2018 Equinox, shedding nearly 400 pounds —approximately 10 percent of its mass — pays dividends in a nimbler, more responsive and more refined driving experience. Combined with this weight loss, the all-new body was designed and optimized for top safety ratings.
Outreach & Impact:
New Community Center in Detroit a Model of Sustainability
A network of local and global businesses are collaborating with the Michigan Urban Farming Initiative (MUFI) to transform a long-vacant apartment complex in Detroit’s lower North End into a multi-functional community space that will become one of the most sustainable, energy-efficient buildings in Detroit.
GM, NWF Triple their Reach in Driving Environment-Focused STEM Education
GM and the National Wildlife Federation have now reached 11,800 children across the country in science, technology, engineering and math projects since launching their Eco-Green partnership in 2015. The program has tripled its reach over the last year.
