Mindy Lubber Interviewed for SRI in the Rockies
|
Twenty years ago, incorporation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues into business practices was virtually unheard of. But, that’s when Ceres was started and, today—with President, Mindy Lubber at the helm—Ceres has become the leading U.S. coalition of investors and environmental leaders working to improve corporate ESG practices. Ms. Lubber also directs the Investor Network on Climate Risk, an alliance that coordinates U.S. investor actions around the financial risks and opportunities posed by climate change.
In this brief interview with First Affirmative Financial Network President, Steve Schueth, Ms. Lubber discusses what sustainability means to global economics and argues why the Waxman-Markey bill, now the American Clean Energy and Security Act (ACES), is neccesary to correct for environmental externalities in order to both improve the efficiency of our market and avoid impacts much worse than those of the subprime meltdown.
Ms. Lubber will be speaking at the 20th Anniversary SRI in the Rockies Conference on October 25th in Tucson, Arizona. |
