(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) Dallas, TX - October 15, 2010 - The Aidmatrix Foundation received a $330,000 grant from The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS (NYSE:UPS).  The grant will be used to continue the international expansion of the Aidmatrix transportation aid relief program. The UPS Foundation is also matching this grant with $100,000 in donated transportation.

Aidmatrix currently uses supply chain technology to provide relief agencies and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with tools for collection and distribution of donated items throughout the U.S. and introduced last year through a partnership with UPS, the ability to extend the transportation system internationally. The continued expansion of the transportation program will enable global NGOs to more affordably and efficiently perform international humanitarian relief work by leveraging free and discounted transportation of products they may not otherwise have been able to afford to ship to the required location.

"Logistics is an essential part of disaster relief. The efficient management and time-sensitive movement of goods ensure that supplies are distributed where they are needed," said Eduardo Martinez, director of philanthropy and corporate relations for The UPS Foundation.  "Our partnership with Aidmatrix enables supplies to reach people in need around the world."

The grant funding will also enable Aidmatrix to create a set of "Customs Clearing Model" enhancements that provide technology automation to help reduce their costs. It will also support enhancements to an Online Warehouse Module / Commodity Tracking System (CTS) for International NGO partners to more efficiently track items in their warehouses around the world.

These programs will enable our NGO partners to have greater access to products to serve their clients in need as well as create visibility into the products in their warehouses that can help them do so.

"Aidmatrix is honored to be partnered with an organization that is such a model of corporate citizenship," said Aidmatrix CEO, Governor Scott McCallum. "With the UPS Foundation, the partnership is not just about the financial support, but also about the social good they do by actively encouraging  their partners and others to participate in social change, working together to impact humanitarian relief in the world community.
