ARLINGTON, Texas, Oct. 17, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Thanks to a unique partnership with the Arlington Southwest Little League through CBS EcoMedia’s WellnessAd program, Chevrolet is supplying brand-new uniforms and athletic equipment for more than 2,000 youth athlete players enrolled with the Arlington Southwest Little League.

To celebrate the partnership, representatives from Chevrolet, GM Arlington, the Arlington Southwest Little League and CBS EcoMedia attended a special community event and barbeque at the Martin Luther King Jr. Sports Complex. Chevrolet and GM Arlington employees had the opportunity to interact with young players and watch them in action. Milton Jones from Arlington Assembly threw the honorary first pitch, officially starting the games and kicking off the fun-filled day of baseball with an estimated 1,200 community spectators in attendance.

Located within the Martin Luther King Jr. Sports Complex, the Arlington Southwest Little League prides itself in being the one of the largest little leagues in the world, and the only league in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area which offers baseball for players ages 3 through 19. It is also the largest all-volunteer little league organization in the world, with 1,100 youth players currently enrolled in the spring league and 750 currently enrolled in the fall season. Funding provided by Chevrolet and the GM Arlington Assembly facility will outfit approximately 2,171 youth athletes with brand-new uniforms, including hats, jerseys and batting helmets for the 2016 spring and fall All-Star Season.

“Arlington Southwest Little League thrives on providing the best possible atmosphere for youth in the community to play baseball and the space for their families to enjoy camaraderie and fellowship,” said Hazem Saleh, Vice President of Player Development & Special Events at Arlington Southwest Little League. “We rely heavily on our volunteer base and our partnerships with local businesses and corporations. Chevrolet’s support has taken us to the next level, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their support.”

“Chevrolet and GM Arlington work hard to build relationships that matter in our local communities every day. By providing these much needed uniforms and equipment to help the youth in Arlington, we are doing just that,” said Milton Jones, Supply Chain Director, Arlington Assembly. “With Arlington being the official home of the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, it is fitting that we would fund a sports program that not only supports our great local community, but has deep roots with this brand.”

“Chevrolet and GM Arlington’s support of youth programs like the Arlington Southwest Little League is a testament of their continued commitment to the local community,” said Paul Polizzotto, President and Founder of CBS EcoMedia.
