CENTENNIAL, Colo., January 7, 2019 /3BL Media/ – Arrow Electronics received the 2018 Sustainability Collaborative Opportunity Award from MetLife during the insurer’s recent supplier forum. The award goes to a supplier who has presented unique, innovative and impactful opportunities to strengthen and support MetLife’s overall sustainability program.

Arrow responsibly disposes MetLife’s global IT assets including, computers, monitors and more through reuse, resell and recycling. Last year, Arrow launched a sustainability tracking tool called the Environmental Scorecard that provides metrics such as the volume of IT assets diverted from landfills, hazardous wastes avoided and carbon savings. In 2018, the company worked with MetLife to help leverage the tool on a wider scale for the future.

“Our portfolio of capabilities spans the entire product lifecycle, and Arrow has the unique ability to provide our suppliers and customers with solutions designed to empower them. Our evolving Environmental Scorecard tool is one way we do this,” said Kristin Russell, president of Arrow’s global services.

MetLife also recognized Arrow’s participation in MetLife’s Our Green Impact program, including annual Earth Day events and employee e-waste collection days. In its communications summarizing the awards, MetLife said Arrow has “gone above and beyond business as usual to offer environmentally beneficial services, support sustainability initiatives and align with MetLife’s goals.”
