DENVER, April 25, 2019 /3BL Media/ – For the second year, Arrow Electronics employees at the company’s global headquarters celebrated Earth Day by teaming with Denver Parks and Recreation to clean Commons Park, near downtown Denver. Arrow volunteers mulched around trees, picked up litter and pruned overgrowth at the park.

Collectively, the 75 participating employees contributed 250 hours of volunteer labor. They were part of a larger group of 375 employees from local companies that saved the city $25,000 in maintenance work. Through Arrow’s Dollars for Doers program, the volunteers also generated matching funds for Park People, a nonprofit that works closely with the parks department to preserve and advocate for Denver’s parks and natural spaces.

“I just want to give back and try to make a difference,” said Valinda Bailey, an accounting associate in Arrow’s corporate finance department. Arrow is committed to making a positive contribution to the environment and the communities in which it operates. In 2018, employees committed a total of 5,945 hours to community service.
