Bindu Lohani, Former Vice President at Asian Development Bank, Joins Ingersoll Rand Advisory Council on Sustainability

SWORDS, Ireland, Oct. 29, 2015 /3BL Media/ – The Advisory Council on Sustainability of Ingersoll Rand  (NYSE:IR), a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, appointed Bindu Lohani as a member of the Advisory Council, effective immediately.

Lohani oversaw Asia Development Bank’s (ADB) Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department, the Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department and the office of Information Systems and Technology. Prior to joining ADB, he worked with the government of Nepal.

“Bindu Lohani’s appointment to our Advisory Council on Sustainability further strengthens Ingersoll Rand’s efforts in integrating sustainability into the fabric of the company and pursuing thought leadership initiatives,” said W. Scott Tew, executive director, Center for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability (CEES) at Ingersoll Rand. “Bindu’s work with ADB and his expertise in green financing lends a unique perspective to the Advisory Council and Ingersoll Rand. His global sustainability acumen, specifically as it relates to the Asia Pacific region, is imperative to future growth.”

He graduated from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; from North Carolina State University in 1973 with a master’s degree in civil engineering; and in 1977 he earned his doctoral degree in Environmental Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology. Lohani is an elected member of the National Academy of Engineering of the United States, diplomat of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
