Montréal, September 12, 2013 /3BL Media/ – For the seventh consecutive year, Bombardier has been chosen as an index component in the Dow Jones Sustainability World index and the Dow Jones Sustainability North America index, benchmark indicators of sustainability. In addition, for the second time, Bombardier was named Industry Leader within the Aerospace and Defense industry.

Bombardier is among the 333 top companies worldwide included in this year’s annual review of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). Bombardier also ranks among the 140 most successful companies in the DJSI North America index.

The results of a comprehensive sustainability assessment conducted by S&P Dow Jones Indices and Swiss company RobecoSAM, the DJSI follow a best-in-class approach, evaluating the performance of the world’s leaders in sustainability on criteria across economic, environmental and social dimensions. As the longest-running global sustainability benchmarks worldwide, they have become the key reference point in sustainability investing for both investors and companies.

“Our second consecutive industry leadership represents a significant accomplishment in our commitment to corporate social responsibility, an integral part of our competitive foundation, helping us shape the future of mobility, responsibly,” said Me Daniel Desjardins, Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Corporate Social Responsibility Committee Chairman, Bombardier Inc.

“This achievement indicates to our stakeholders that we not only consider the material issues and responsibilities facing us, but also work to address them across our business, understanding that this commitment creates value for Bombardier,” added Me Desjardins.

Earlier this year, following its 2012 listing on the DJSI World and DJSI North America, Bombardier was awarded RobecoSAM Sector Leader for the first time as well as RobecoSAM Gold Class in the 2013 RobecoSAM Sustainability Yearbook.
