Louisville, KY, December 17, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Brown-Forman Corporation received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2014 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. This is the fourth consecutive year Brown-Forman has received a perfect score.

“The CEI is the gold standard for corporate policies and practices related to LGBT employees and their families. Brown-Forman has worked hard to create a workplace that is inclusive and respectful of all employees,” said Ralph de Chabert, Brown-Forman chief diversity officer. “We believe that a diverse and inclusive environment is not only the right thing to do, but is also good for our business and our brands.”

The 2014 CEI rated 934 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Of those 934 rated, 303 major U.S. businesses earned top marks this year. Brown-Forman’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
