Madison, Wis., Feb. 26, 2015 /3BL Media/ – As part of the McFarland Business & Education Partnership Adopt-A-Class program, the CITGO Madison terminal recently presented the McFarland School District with a $1,000 contribution to be used for field trips and new supplies. The McFarland High School Administration’s David Piovanetti and Anne Nichols accepted the gift on behalf of the McFarland School District.

“CITGO representatives have repeatedly proven themselves as committed public service partners of our community,” said Anne Nichols, dean of students at McFarland High School. “Because of the terminal’s generous contribution, our students’ classroom learning will be enhanced through practical business experience by providing the funds to support trips and new supplies for these students.

The Adopt-A-Class program brings business representatives to McFarland classrooms several times during the school year and culminates in a class field trip to the partnering business. The program goals include bringing perspectives from local businesses to the classroom, exposing students to potential career paths, reinforcing school district strategic priorities and bringing a heightened sense of relevancy to student learning.

“Supporting education is a core value of CITGO while at the same time giving back to the communities where we operate,” said CITGO Vice President Supply and Marketing Rick Esser. “Because the Adopt-A-Class program acquaints students with community professionals and exposes them to valuable instruction outside of the classroom, we are proud to support the education of these future leaders.”
