CR Magazine Reveals 17th Annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens List

PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 22, 2016 /3BL Media/ - Corporate Responsibility Magazine announced today its 17th annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens List, recognizing the standout performance of public companies across the United States.

The 100 Best Corporate Citizens List documents 260 data points of disclosure and performance measures—harvested from publicly available information in seven categories: environment, climate change, employee relations, human rights, governance, finance, and philanthropy & community support. The list ranks the Russell 1000 Index.

“Companies that make our list strive to be transparent while disclosing how their business impacts employees, communities, and the environment,” said Belinda Sharr, editor of Corporate Responsibility Magazine. “These companies engage in a wide range of responsible business practices, and do so while succeeding financially as well. They exemplify good corporate citizenship.”

Additionally, some interesting statistics from this year’s list include:

  •   36 companies rose an average of 15 ranks

  •   43 companies fell an average of 14 ranks

  •   The average rank increase for the Top 100 was 28 places, and

  •   The average rank increase for the Top 10 was 2 places.

The top ten on the 2016 list include (in rank order, from first to tenth): Microsoft Corporation, Intel Corp., Hasbro, Inc., Johnson & Johnson, Ecolab, Inc., Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., Xerox Corp., Lockheed Martin Corp., Lexmark International, Inc., Campbell Soup Co.
