Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Thursday, November 11th:

The Women’s Network for a Sustainable Future will hold its Second Annual West Coast Businesswomen’s Sustainability Summit tomorrow in San Jose, California. 200 women business leaders will gather to discuss “The Cleantech Scenario,” and how to prepare women executives to take the lead in sustainability strategies. The event is sponsored by IBM, Avon, Con Edison, Intel, the McGraw-Hill Companies, MJ Lilly Associates, Pfizer, Corporate Citizenship Inc., and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

ISO 26000, a guidance document, has been released by the International Organization for Standardization. Integrating international expertise on social responsibility, the report outlines best practices for implementing CSR for both public and private organizations. ISO 26000 specifically offers assistance in supply chain issues for small to mid-sized enterprises by establishing common standards on social responsibility concepts, definitions, and methods of evaluation.
