(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) New York, NY - September 20, 2010 - From September 20 - 26, 2010, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, over 700 bakeries and grocery and convenience stores across the country will team up with parents and kids for the seventh annual Cupcakes for a Cause® Week. The campaign raises money to help children affected by a cancer diagnosis – either their own or that of a family member.    Participating bakeries will sell cupcakes and donate a portion of the proceeds from their sale to CancerCare for Kids®, a program of the national nonprofit organization, CancerCare, that provides free, professional counseling and support services to children and families affected by cancer. Cupcakes sold through the Cupcakes for a Cause campaign bear a smiley-face candy topper, the icon of the CancerCare for Kids program. Last year’s campaign raised nearly $100,000.   “Cupcakes for a Cause is a great way to do something fun with your family while helping children and families affected by this devastating illness. Our professional oncology social workers help children understand cancer, talk about their feelings and become less afraid,” said Helen Miller, Chief Executive Officer of CancerCare. “This year, we’re delighted to have göt2b support this important campaign.”   "göt2b is proud and honored to sponsor Cupcakes for a Cause,” said Grace Esteban, Brand Manager göt2b Styling. “We're delighted to partner with CancerCare to build awareness of this amazing program and believe people will be inspired to do good, feel good and look good too!"   göt2b is also sponsoring the campaign’s virtual e-Cupcakes application on www.cupcakesforacause.org, where anyone can decorate their own virtual e-Cupcake and send it to a friend. For every e-Cupcake sent in September, göt2b will make a $1 donation to CancerCare, up to $10,000.   There’s even a third sweet way to support CancerCare for Kids – anyone can host a bake sale and donate the proceeds to CancerCare for Kids.
