Top Global MBA Students Now Eligible for Social Entrepreneurship Programme in India

MUMBAI, India, October 12, 2012 /3BL Media/ - Having connected more than 200 global leaders with India’s most inspiring social entrepreneurs, Journeys For Change is launching its first programme exclusively for MBA students. The fifteen top MBA students from around the world who are selected for this programme will spend 28 December 2012 - 4 January 2013 engaging with award-winning social enterprises- for and nonprofit organisations- in Bangalore and Mumbai, India.

This inaugural MBA Social Entrepreneurship Journey’s provisional itinerary includes visits to Dial 1298 (, which operates ambulances and provides accessible, high-quality emergency medical services in India;  and emergency medical services; SELCO India (, which pioneers the sustainable energy solutions for the poor; and Industree Crafts (, India's leading craft retailer supporting the livelihoods of rural producers. It includes a discussion with Solomon JP, India Country Director for Ashoka and an evening at Bombay Connect (, Mumbai’s social entrepreneurship center.

According to Programme Director Meaghan Casey, the impetus for the MBA Social Entrepreneurship Journey was the opportunity to inspire MBA students’ growing desire to use their skills for social good. “The MBA Social Entrepreneurship Journeys is a remarkable opportunity for MBA students gain hands-on, practical experience to get ahead and make valuable connections at the frontlines of social entrepreneurship.”

Journeys for Change takes international leaders on transformational journeys to help them create greater profit and impact in the world. Since 2005, it has run journeys visiting and learning from some of India’s most inspiring social entrepreneurs. Participants have come from organisations as diverse as Nike, JPMorgan, Mercy Corps, Novo Nordisk, Habitat for Humanity, and INSEAD. Its alumni network consists of more than 200 socially-conscious leaders spanning four continents.
