DALLAS, November 23, 2020 /3BL Media/ -  In partnership with international NGO Oceanic Global, EarthX will host a virtual screening and panel discussion for the first-ever Oceanic Global Short Film Festival. This event features the festival’s winning Final Four films and will show on EarthxTV on December 3rd at 11am EST. Created byOceanic Global’s London Hub, the festival showcases emerging filmmakers that are putting a spotlight on the environment and conservation.

Final Four Film Screening

•   Mystique Sequence by Tim Georgeson

•   Lessons from Jeju by Nicole Gormley

•   Dive Tierra Bomba Dive by Joya Berrow and Lucy Jane

•   Murder at Sea by Mark Benjamin

EarthxTV, one of the world's largest environmental alliances, is exclusively streaming the event. Carlotta Bianchi and Elizabeth Aisher, the London Hub members spearheading the project, will interview each filmmaker and introduce a panel discussion focusing on the power of film as a means for educating and inspiring action to close the screening.

In addition to the Earthx screening, the makers of these top films will gain one-on-one mentorship with an acclaimed festival juror. One winning film will also receive a £1000 voucher for film equipment hire from New Day Pictures — one of the UK’s leading Film and TV equipment hire companies.

Esteemed mentors include award-winning director and producer Martha Jeffries, Emmy-nominated producer Brett Kincaid, award-winning filmmaker Luke Davies, and film and commercial producer Sarah Michler.

Panel Discussion| Following the screenings, Jake Witzenfeld and Line Hadsbjerg — writers, producers and directors — will discuss the power of film as a medium for driving action, raising awareness and educating during a panel moderated by Oceanic Global NYC Hub Co-chair, producer, and film festival juror Sarah Michler.

The festival aims to address some of the challenges that have surfaced during this 2020 pandemic, some of which include the financial uncertainty of freelancers in creative industries, the demand for online educational and environmentally-focused content, as well as the threat of increased single-use plastics use during the health crisis. In promoting these talented emerging filmmakers, Oceanic Global hopes to shine a light on film as a universal language that can create bridges toward positive behavior changes.

Join this special, first-ever Oceanic Global Short Film Festival on December 3rd at earthx.org, and prepare to be inspired into new avenues of environmental engagement.
