Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold CEO Receives Recognition for Commitment to STEM Education

October 29, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Richard Adkerson, Vice Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold was recently named among the nation’s top 100 CEO leaders in science, technology, engineering and math by STEMconnector, a national organization working to advance STEM skills and education.

STEMconnector recognized the group of CEOs for their commitment to make a difference in STEM and their support of STEM programs and initiatives.

Each year, Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold invests approximately $1.5 to $2 million in STEM education at the K-12 level and approximately $2.5 million at the post-secondary level.
