Global Impact Appoints John Lazar as Executive Director of The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area

Accomplished Leader and Fundraiser Joins Global Impact

(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) Alexandria, VA - July 15, 2011 - Global Impact, whose mission is to assure help for the world’s most vulnerable people, named John E. Lazar to manage the largest workplace giving campaign in the world, the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA).

Mr. Lazar, a leader and innovator in the not-for-profit world, joins Global Impact as Executive Director of the CFCNCA after serving in executive positions at the American Cancer Society for the last 13 years. The CFCNCA is the local campaign for Federal employees in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.   As Executive Director, Mr. Lazar will oversee a workplace giving campaign for nearly 350,000 civilian, postal and uniformed Federal employees. In 2010, the campaign generated a record-breaking $67 million in pledges for more than 4,000 participating charities that help people in need in local communities, across the nation and around the world.   “Mr. Lazar is a recognized and accomplished leader in the not-for-profit sector and brings a wealth of fundraising and management expertise to this critical position within Global Impact,” said Renée S. Most recently, he was Senior State Vice President for the South Atlantic Division (Washington, DC). From 2001 to 2007, Mr. Lazar was the Regional Vice President of the Greater Bay Area & Redwood Empire Region. Previously, Mr. Lazar was the Executive Director of the San Fernando Valley Area. In these roles, he developed highly successful programs and income strategies for a $120 million income goal.   Mr. Lazar’s range of management experience includes working as the Director of Housing for Argus Community, Inc., an organization in New York City that helps disadvantaged teens and adults. In that capacity, he managed advocacy at the local, state and Federal levels. Mr. Lazar also directed supportive housing for formerly homeless and recruited tenants for low-income tax credit housing projects.     About Global Impact
