June 19, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Grupo Financiero Banorte presented its 2013 Annual Report with the results of its economic, social and environmental performance under the G4 methodology of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and its Financial Supplement.

The report adheres to the comprehensive option established in the GRI's G4 methodology, highlighting an analysis of Materiality, through which the most relevant aspects to report were defined, based on key issues for its stakeholders.

“We want to communicate to our stakeholders what is important to each of them, in a transparent manner. We adopted the GRI's G4 precisely because it uses Materiality as the basis to determine content”, indicates Mayra Hernández, Executive Director of Social Responsibility of Grupo Financiero Banorte.

Optimal adherence to the GRI's G4 methodology and correct implementation of the results of the Materiality study (Materiality Matters process) earned the institution the 'Materiality Matters' check, issued by GRI; becoming the first institution in its sector in Mexico to report under this methodology and earn the checkmark.

As part of this commitment to communicate the organization's performance in a clear, precise and transparent manner, an independent firm has also verified the report, significantly increasing the number of indicators reviewed compared to the previous year.

Furthermore, the institution has tried to incorporate the framework presented by The International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) within the report, whose framework provides a model to present the company's performance, its alignment lies in providing readers with more information on the functioning of the Organization, assessment of intangibles and a vision for the future of the most significant business projects.

"Transforming Capital into Value" is the theme of the report, which seeks to present a model in which the different types of capital (human, intellectual, financial, social and natural) are transformed through business operations to make investments in social, economic and environmental areas, directed at the institution's mission: "Generating confidence and financial strength for its customers". This model is complemented by the organization's solid Social Responsibility and Sustainability strategy.
