Ingersoll Rand Shares Employee Engagement Successes at Keep America Beautiful Conference

Davidson, N.C., Feb. 3, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Gretchen Digby, Director of Global Sustainability Programs for the Center for Energy Efficiency & Sustainability (CEES) at Ingersoll Rand, will join business leaders and policy makers at the 2014 Keep America Beautiful National Conference, Feb. 3 - 6 in Charlotte, N.C.

Digby will be a panelist for the plenary session, “Corporate Perspectives: Building Effective Relationships”, along with executives from Altria and Dow Chemical Company. Digby will discuss Ingersoll Rand’s successful development of a global network of employee volunteer Green Teams and the resulting increase in employee engagement throughout the company. These teams identify ways to create a more sustainable environment in their local facilities and communities, which produces measurable results and significant savings of resources each year.

Keep America Beautiful's National Conference is the premier educational and networking event for affiliate directors, community and volunteer leaders, bringing together national experts and key stakeholders focused on employee engagement, recycling challenges, professional development, and other community and business-related areas.

The event will focus on: cultivating new ideas and strategies to create and sustain vibrant communities; updating and enhancing existing programs that lead to behavior change; strengthening company/organization boards; and sharing fundraising ideas, best practices, and the appropriate social media tools to raise the visibility of an organization's brand. About the Speaker

Gretchen Digby is the Director of Global Sustainability Programs for the Center for Energy Efficiency & Sustainability (CEES) at Ingersoll Rand. In this role, she is focused on establishing world-class sustainability training programs as well as leading global engagement activities for the company’s employees to further integrate sustainability into the company culture. She has achieved great success and external recognition for her efforts establishing Global Volunteer Green Teams that hold events and activities to increase awareness of employees on actions that lead to more sustainable workplaces, homes, and communities. Gretchen is focused on raising employee competencies and measuring the value of sustainability through unique partnerships and outside-the-box approaches. Gretchen joined Ingersoll Rand in 2001 as a corporate environmental, health and safety leader. She began her career in manufacturing with Milliken & Company as Engineering Services Manager. Gretchen holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University.
