March 18, 2021 /3BL Media/ - The software provider and UN Global Compact signatory iPoint-systems was named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the category “Communications Department of the Year” at the 2021 German Stevie® Awards for its outstanding communication on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Recognizing outstanding achievements in over 200 different categories, the German Stevie® Awards are a high-profile business award for the German-speaking European corporate world from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Switzerland. More than 400 nominations were received for this year's German Stevie® Awards – the 7th edition –, which were rated by 40 jury members on six committees.

Based on outstanding ratings for its SDG-focused communications work, iPoint's Corporate Communications department was recognized by the international jury as a Gold Stevie® Awards winner in the category “Communications Department of the Year”. “Since signing the UN Global Compact in 2018, the world's largest voluntary corporate sustainability initiative, iPoint’s Corporate Communications department has been dedicated to integrating sustainability into the company's strategy, culture, and daily workflows and to advance broader societal goals, in particular the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are thrilled to have received this prestigious award as an appreciation for the ongoing work of this small but wonderful team,” Dr. Katie Boehme, Head of iPoint’s Corporate Communications department, emphasizes. “In these volatile times, sustainability-focused companies prove to be the most successful and resilient ones with better financial results than their peers,“ states Joerg Walden, CEO and founder of iPoint-systems. “Therefore, it is just as important for us as a software provider to not only accompany other companies on their way to sustainability, but also to bring sustainability-oriented values and behaviors we support externally – including open innovation and transparent information exchange – to life within our own company. I am very proud of this great achievement, and the Gold Stevie® Award in the category “Communications Department of the Year” for our SDG-oriented internal and external communication not only underlines our sustainability commitment, but is also a wonderful appreciation for the great work our Communications department does every day. Both as a software company and a corporate citizen we remain committed to accelerating the transition towards a sustainable future,” Walden adds.

For the jury of the German Stevie® Awards 2021, “Choosing sustainability as the guiding theme of corporate communications is a good move, but one that also fits very well with the orientation of iPoint's products and is consistent in this respect.” One judge praised the orientation of iPoint's communication work to the SDGs as “a prime example of sustainable communication. Over the years, the topic is being consistently pushed and worked on, using a wide range of media. What is striking is the involvement of employees, the focus on clear key figures and results, and the didactically successful preparation of the topics.” Another judge highlighted: “Very commendable that an SME is putting the effort behind the 17 SDGs.” Overall, the jury rated the sustainability effort as very credible, “which is lived comprehensively in the company.”
