FISHERS, Ind., September 30, 2020 /3BL Media/ - Land Betterment Corporation (“Land Betterment” or the “Company”), an environmental solutions company fostering positive impact through upcycling former coal mining sites to create sustainable community development and job creation, is pleased to announce the renovation and build-out of the Company’s Entrepreneur Zone.  Located in the City of Hazard, Kentucky, the Entrepreneur Zone was conceived by Land Betterment as an office building that focuses on incubation, fostering, and promotion of regional and local businesses. The goal of the Entrepreneur Zone is to provide resources to start-up businesses that are looking for private and public resources to help their businesses grow and get off the ground.

At 10,000 square feet, the Entrepreneur Zone started the process in Summer of 2020 with an extensive renovation to bring the historical building to modern-day standards.  Formerly a coal mining office, once the renovation is complete the building will have a flexible layout allowing for a combination of single offices and office suites, along with the latest in technological capabilities, including video conferencing and remote meeting set-up.  The Entrepreneur Zone will provide both single business proprietors and small businesses a cost-effective, customizable office space solutions with the ability to seek both public and private capital for their businesses though both Land Betterment and its related resources and relationships, thereby providing new businesses a “leg-up” to get them started and funded.

The Entrepreneur Zone is in discussions with local governments, schools and colleges to collaborate, incubate and develop technologies and advancements in cutting edge industries for the region as the local economy drives to more forward-looking opportunities.  Land Betterment internally is focused on incubating various Ag-Tech initiatives at the facility to further advance its Betterment Harvest’s division.

Currently, after a complete removal and deconstruction of all fixtures, furniture ceiling tiles, and wallpaper, the Entrepreneur Zone is beginning the process of rebuilding the office, with reflooring, repainting, and technology installation.  The Company anticipates that the remaining renovation process will likely take four months, resulting in full renovation completion coming in ahead of original estimates.  Renovations are being conducted with the assistance and through the help of local businesses.

Kirk Taylor, Land Betterment’s President commented, “With the changing economics in Kentucky, and Central Appalachia at-large, as they transition away from historically dominant coal mining, new emerging businesses need to get a foothold to help with this transition.  At the heart of Central Appalachia is our Entrepreneur Zone, where we are actively promoting new businesses with a wide variety of public and private resources.  We are very pleased with the progress of our renovation process, along with the immense support and help of the local community and businesses, and feel that it is just a few more months before we can official open and welcome entrepreneurs to the tangible and intangible support Land Betterment has to offer.  We look forward to updating the community with details around programs we will launch under this effort as that time gets closer.”
