(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) Madison, WI - August 26, 2011 - Leonardo Academy announced the approval of its updated Standard Development Process by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). These changes are the result of Leonardo Academy’s periodic updating of its standard development process, which ANSI reviews and approves. Leonardo Academy is an ANSI-accredited Standards Development Organization (SDO).

The two major changes include:
  1. An updated voting process requiring a 60% majority vote for Committee approval of draft standards for release for public comment and for approval of final standards. This is a change from the 50% vote required previously.

  2. A division of the General Interest group into two groups:  One for General Interest, and another for Government / Colleges and Universities. Previously, the General Interest category was twice as large as the other interest groups and this change made for better conformity of the interested representatives.

A number of other refinements are included in the updated process as well. (View a copy of the updated process.)   Leonardo Academy President Michael Arny said, “As we work on developing ANSI standards we learn new things. Frequent updates and maintenance of our process will keep it as the best possible standard development platform.”   Visit Leonardo Academy’s website for a list of standards currently under development.   LA16408
