LOS ANGELES, April 30, 2014 /3BL Media/ – As creativity, technology, pop culture and environmental sustainability collide here this week at The Cable Show 2014, dozens of Ultra High-Definition TVs, Smart TVs and LED Monitors from LG Electronics are taking center stage at “Imagine Park,” the massive trade show’s centerpiece exhibit.

Helping The Cable Show “go green” are LG’s ENERGY STAR® certified LED TVs and monitors provided by LG Electronics USA, showing that you don’t have to sacrifice performance or style to save energy and fight climate change. This follows on the heels of the National Association of Broadcasters’ convention earlier this month in Las Vegas where LG ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2014 TVs were on display throughout the trade show. LG Electronics is a 2014 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence.

“With live demonstrations, captivating conversations and influential thinkers taking the stage, Imagine Park is the place to catch an early glimpse of what’s next in broadband and television ideation,” said Mark Bell, vice president of industry affairs at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), which selected LG Electronics USA as both the “Official Ultra HDTV” and “Official Smart TV” partner for The Cable Show 2014.

Produced by NCTA, Imagine Park is the show’s epicenter of innovation where more than 30 companies will take the stage – flanked by two 84-inch class LG Ultra HDTVs with four times the resolution of conventional HDTVs – to unveil new ideas and reveal what’s next in broadband and television.

In the heart of Imagine Park is the new “Imagine Film Challenge,” where budding filmmakers will produce, edit and present high-definition short films using ENERGY STAR certified LG 55-inch class LED Smart TVs and 29-inch class IPS LED monitors.

LG 55-inch class ENERGY STAR certified LED digital signage displays also are integrated into Imagine Park.

Imagine Park’s “Internet of Things Lounge” features 65-inch class LG Ultra HDTVs displaying a stunning 8 million pixels. The lounge is where demos, cool gadgets and interactive products are highlighting the new frontier of connected devices.

In its own cable show booth, also sporting ENERGY STAR certified TVs, LG is demonstrating new family of smart set-top boxes (STBs) designed to help cable operators deliver compelling home entertainment, home automation and home monitoring services to their subscribers. The new STBs marry proven Internet-connected device platforms with flexible cable-centric applications to meet consumers’ varying entertainment needs and enhance their home TV experience.

From its new Ultra HDTV Cable Box to Over-the-Top, Cable and Hybrid STBs based on the Android operating system, LG is offering cable operators a broad array of solutions that leverage the cable industry’s unparalleled broadband capabilities. These products are designed to lower the barrier to connected home experiences for consumers, making the latest in home entertainment and automation more widely available.
