BOSTON, MASS., May 15, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Through participation in CBS EcoMedia’s WellnessAd program, Plymouth Rock Assurance has provided funding to support the installation of new adult fitness equipment at the Erie-Ellington Playground in Dorchester, which is part of a full renovation recently completed by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department. The exercise equipment, which includes five different exercise stations, will offer new ways for local community members to use the park and to improve their overall health and wellness.

In partnership with Mayor Martin J. Walsh and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation will celebrate the reopening of the park on Saturday, May 16 at 10:00 AM. Plymouth Rock Assurance employee volunteers will also participate in a half-day volunteer event in Dorchester tomorrow, Friday, May 15, to do cleanup and beautification projects in the community.

“We care deeply about the communities in which we live and work,” said Chris Olie, President and CEO of Plymouth Rock Assurance. “We were founded here more than 30 years ago, and we continue to view our company as a community member with a civic responsibility. Projects like this one are an example of how we can give back and be a good citizen to our neighbors.”

“We are very grateful for the partnership with Plymouth Rock Assurance,” said Parks Commissioner Chris Cook. “This playground will serve both children and adults as we strive to bring access, equity and excellence to our historic park system.”
