WASHINGTON, July 26, 2019 — PYXERA Global is pleased to announce that Charles Hamidu, Founder and Managing Director of Amethyst Ghana Limited has become Chair of the Board of Directors for PYXERA Global Ghana.
Mr. Charles Hamidu is the Founder and Managing Director of Amethyst Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of a U.S. bio-medical engineering company that provides diagnostics, testing and quality assurance solutions across sectors including health, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, oil and gas, water, and mining. He also serves as Director of International Partnerships for parent company, Amethyst Technologies, LLC based in Baltimore, MD.
Mr. Hamidu is also the CEO of HYDREX Company Ltd, a general construction company based in Accra, Ghana and has been in operations over the past decade and half. Among HYDREX’s clients are the Bank of Ghana and the country’s primary power generator, the Volta River Authority. Mr. Hamidu has wide ranging experience in project design and management across sectors such as health, environment, water and mining. He has worked for a number of international development organizations including consulting for the US Agency for International Development (USAID). He is a Board member of the Rotary Club of Accra, Ghana and devotes his spare time to various youth development initiatives. Mr. Hamidu holds a Master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Birmingham, UK and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in political science from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
